County clerk evening hours cancelled
The Macomb County Clerk/Register of Deeds announced today she cancelled county clerk’s office evening hours tonight due to inclement weather. The State of Michigan closed their offices at noon today.
The Macomb County Clerk has offered Wednesday evening hours since 2004 to assist customers needing personal service, but who cannot get to the office during the regular workday. The Macomb County clerk’s office is open daily 8 am - 4:30 pm, and until 7 pm every Wednesday, except tonight. Services offered during Wednesday evening hours include: birth, death and marriage records, notary public, marriage license and CPL applications, veteran ID cards and voter registration.
“No one should have to miss work because they need a copy of their birth certificate,” said the Macomb County Clerk. “Evening hours in the clerk’s office improve service for working people because someone with a full time job can still get personal service. It is rare that evening hours are closed due to weather.”
The Macomb County Clerk’s office also offers a “FastPass” service, letting customers make an appointment and avoid waiting in line for services.
