On this page, you will find links for states that offer notary searches online. Use the search index to verify if the out of state notary is indeed an active notary.

If a link is unclickable, then that state does not currently offer an online notary search index.

If you are an out of state couple getting married in Macomb County, and your state DOES NOT have an online notary search index, then you will need to send a copy of the notary's certificate along with your application. If your state DOES have a notary search index, then we do not require a copy of the notary's certificate.
