EFFECTIVE MARCH 24, 2020

In accordance with the Governor's Executive Order 2020-21, the Macomb County Election Department is closed to the public.  We will still be working remotely during the closure. We encourage you to email elections@macombgov.org with any questions. You can also call 586-469-5209 and leave a voicemail message.  We continue to monitor emails and voicemails during this closure. 

Candidates can still file to run for office during this closure. 

Candidates can file by mail: mailing their notarized Affidavit of Identity (and petitions or check) to 32 Market Street, Mount Clemens, MI 48043. 

Candidates can also file by email: emailing their notarized Affidavit of Identity and petitions, if applicable.  Filing Fee payments (if applicable) must be made immediately thereafter at: https://checkout.square.site/buy/VKWP5Y6YBZ5YBSJNT5PZREZM.  Candidates filing via email still need to mail their original, signed Affidavit of Identity to our office.

Campaign Finance Late Fees will not be assessed during this time.

Elections

The Election Department is responsible for overseeing the printing and distribution of election ballots and conducting national, state, and county elections. The canvass of votes in state, county, local, and school district elections is under the jurisdiction of the County Clerk.​​​​​

Pre-Election Statement

Close of Books:  February 23, 2020
                  Due:  February 28, 2020 – by 5 pm

Late Contribution Report period:  February 24 - March 7

 

Post-Election Statement

Close of Books:  March 30, 2020
                  Due:  April 9, 2020 – by 5 pm
