MACOMB COUNTY ELECTION DEPARTMENT

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

(June 2020)

Candidates without political party affiliation seeking partisan office at the November General Election must file an Affidavit of Identity and qualifying petitions by July 16 at 4:00pm.

Candidates for Local School Board and Community College Trustee must file an Affidavit of Identity and nominating petitions/filing fee by July 21 at 4:00pm.

Given the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we encourage candidates to file early, rather than waiting until the filing deadline.  The Macomb County Clerk’s Office has no authority to extend filing deadlines for any reason.

Candidates who must file for office with the Macomb County Election Department may file by mail or in-person.  E-mailed filings will not be accepted.  If a candidate chooses to mail their filing, it must be received by our office by the filing deadline.  Envelope postmark dates will not be honored.

Detailed candidate filing information is available in the "Filing Requirements" section below

Beginning Monday, July 6, 2020, the Macomb County Election Department will be open to the public BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  For the safety of our customers and our employees, we are attempting to minimize the number of people in our office/lobby at the same time.  For this reason, walk-in customers will be directed to make an appointment.

Check available appointment times and sign up at https://elections.macombcountyclerkrod.enterpriseappointments.com/v2/

Face masks are REQUIRED for any person entering a county building.
