IMPORTANT REMINDERS

(August 2020)

Beginning Monday, July 6, 2020, the Macomb County Election Department will be open to the public BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  For the safety of our customers and our employees, we are attempting to minimize the number of people in our office/lobby at the same time.  For this reason, walk-in customers will be directed to make an appointment.

Face masks are REQUIRED for any person entering a county building.

Elections

The Election Department is responsible for overseeing the printing and distribution of election ballots and conducting national, state, and county elections. The canvass of votes in state, county, local, and school district elections is under the jurisdiction of the County Clerk.​​​​​

  • Candidates (including Write-Ins) without a Reporting Waiver seeking office at the August 4, 2020 election owe a Pre-Primary statement:

                          Close of Books: July 19, 2020            

                                           Due: July 24, 2020  -  by 5 pm                            

  • Candidates without a Reporting Waiver not seeking office in 2020 owe the July Quarterly statement:

                         Close of Books: July 20, 2020

                                          Due: July 27, 2020  -  by 5 pm                            

 

BALLOT QUESTION COMMITTEES

  • BQs without a Reporting Waiver participating in the August 4, 2020 election may owe a Pre-Primary statement:

                           Close of Books: July 19, 2020
